Extractions May Become Necessary For Some Patients
Extractions
Before we begin any procedure, we will make sure you feel comfortable. If you feel anxiety about your dental treatment, we offer nitrous oxide, a mild form of sedation, to help you relax. We also use anesthetic to numb your tooth and gums so that you do not feel pain during your procedure.
Dr. Ian Kuklenski is very gentle and will communicate with you about the procedure so that you know what to expect. In most cases, extractions go smoothly and heal without incident. We will talk to you about your treatment and what to expect during the healing process.
Aftercare for Extractions
After your procedure, you will receive care instructions to ensure that you make a speedy recovery. Dr. Kuklenski will talk with you about keeping the extraction site clean, pain management, and follow-up appointments. Our helpful team will schedule a follow-up exam to make sure you heal properly.
Referrals to a Specialist
If we feel that your extraction is more complicated, we may refer you to one of our trusted oral surgeons to make sure you receive the best care possible and that you feel completely comfortable for your procedure.
When we refer you to a specialist, we communicate with that doctor to ensure that you still receive outstanding, seamless care.
Tooth Replacement and Restoration
When necessary, we will discuss your tooth replacement options. This is especially beneficial if it is an expected extraction. That way, we can have a replacement ready, especially for a front tooth. Bridges, dental implants, and partial dentures are some of the most common tooth replacement options available. Dr. Kuklenski will discuss the options he thinks will work best for you as well as what you would like to replace your missing teeth.
